Hot Stove Player of the Week: Jay Ajayi (RB – Miami Dolphins)

For Daily Fantasy Football Managers looking to find value in a player bound to produce above the numbers, we are always on the move to find and isolate the best situations where such an event can occur.

This week we will direct our focus to a player that needs no introduction, as he is simply known as

“The J Train”

The game changes drastically once the playoffs come around so now it is more or less focused on finding the best plays overall in what may be contrarian to public opinion.

The Steelers are coming in as the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs, curating the hosting duties in the Steel City when they welcome the Miami Dolphins. We will by no means try to hard-sell any one on Pittsburgh’s offense, it speaks for itself and obviously Miami’s rush defense ranks among the worst in the league so it sets up perfectly for any LeVeon Bell takers.

However, Bell is quite the pricey play and likely much of the public will fancy opting in on the playmaker as a result of a perceived favorable match-up. It may not be the same for Ajayi, however.

Ajayi is a compelling play

Ajayi is nothing short of a beast and one of the best young rushers in all the NFL. The Boise State Broncos product has emerged as a prolific rusher and when given the chance has put up Bell-like numbers in PPR formats in his own right.

The London-born Nigerian standout achieved all kind of accolades in his collegiate career and he hit the ground running once he emerged in the Sunshine State. Look no further than what Ajayi had achieved previous to and since returning from injuries this season.

Ajayi has even had success against this very Pittsburgh defense as he went for over 200 yards and two touchdowns against the Steelers, comprising his best performance this season.

Ajayi has gone to work

On three separate occasions on opposing defenses and eclipsed the bi-centennial mark. Most recently, The J Train went off against the Buffalo Bills in the freezing tundra of Orchard Park, New York eliminating the argument that Miami cannot play in cold weather climates such as the one they are heading into when they travel up to Pittsburgh this weekend.

Given the fact the game is forecasted to be a Pittsburgh rout with the Steelers offense being the focal point of discussion, Ajayi serves to be the perfect antidote to limiting Pittsburgh’s time on the field while affording the Dolphins the chance to utilize a tool that has been proven to be true.

Ajayi is a great play this weekend.
