Hot Stove Player of the Week: Matt Ryan (QB – Atlanta Falcons)

For Daily Fantasy Football Managers glancing the charts to find a player bound to procure numbers above projections, we are always looking to find those optimal situations where such an event can take place.

This week we will direct our focus to a former Boston College Eagle that has become a premiere quarterback in all the NFL. He leads the NFL’s best offense featured on the Atlanta Falcons.

Some know him as “Matty Ice” but we will simply refer to him as Matt Ryan.

As we have highlighted previously, the format changes once the playoffs come around so now the focus shifts to finding the best plays overall in what may be contrary to public opinion.

In the pantheon of NFL quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers remains on a shortlist. When you consider passing efficiency and proficiency, Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers is seamlessly tossed into that mix as Pittsburgh is known for a dynamic offense.

However, as we have stated, Atlanta has one of the best in the league and Ryan spearheads that attack. Regardless of this, Ryan will likely be the least played option this weekend with the other three aforementioned names on the table. Nevertheless we would urge players in daily fantasy leagues, specifically multipliers to take a very good look at what Ryan has to offer.

First off, the Falcons get this contest at home where they have flourished under the confines of playing in the Georgia Dome all-season long.

Atlanta will host Green Bay

But they can rejoice in the fact that they are not venturing out to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers in the frozen tundra but instead playing this in an environment conducive toward their offense productivity.

When you factor in the narrative that the Packers are not a defensive-oriented team by any means this contest sets up perfectly for Ryan to hoist up some big numbers. Given the fact this NFC Championship will likely devolve to a shootout, we are keen on what Ryan can do in such a situation.

Let’s not forget that the Dirty Birds have one of the best receivers in the game in Julio Jones and he will be out there likely dissecting a porous Packers secondary so we have to like Ryan’s chances of posting big numbers off this wrinkle alone.
