Pickup of the Week: Victor Cruz

Finding hidden value is the key to success in both Daily Fantasy Football formats and Season leagues.

We strive to find the diamonds in the rough that may produce numbers far greater than that of the price fixed to these various players.

Our pickup of the week is also a great waiver wire add for those souls that find themselves number one in the waiver priority or those early worms browsing through free agency.

This week’s pickup of the week is New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz.

We all have seen what Cruz can do in the end zone whether it be his gyrating dance moves or his ability to burn defenders in route to pay dirt. Cruz has been hampered by a variety of injuries but the Giants could never be happier to see number 80 split wide once again.

Victor is currently offered on FanDuel for the economical price of $5,700. Cruz is the Giants’ number two receiver behind Odell Beckham, Jr. in the picking order.

Beckham is one of FanDuel’s A-List receivers and offered at a price over $3,000 greater than that of Cruz. Nevertheless, Victor was the leading producer for the Giants in Week One offensively with 11.4 points as he found the back of the end zone against the arch-rival Cowboys while scooping 4 receptions on 4 targets for 34 yards.

The Giants have a more favorable match-up offensively in Week Two against the New Orleans Saints, a team that lost their Week One fixture giving up 35 points to the Oakland Raiders who lack the firepower the Giants have in their current ranks.

Cruz will likely see an expanded workload

And more targets, combined with a better opportunity to produce against a more maligned secondary. Take advantage while you can.

Cruz will likely see more opportunities with the focus being on Odell Beckham Jr. and this is a narrative you can expect to see unfold over the span of the 2016-17 season.

The Giants playmaker has compiled several 1,000 receiving yard seasons and there is no reason to believe he cannot eclipse this mark, this year.
