Player To Watch: DeMarre Carroll (Forward – Toronto Raptors)

For Daily Fantasy basketball managers surveying the charts hoping to find a player in line for a huge performance with a nominal fee in those Head to Head, League, or Tournament formats, we are always looking to find a player ready to do so.

This week we are looking at DeMarre Carroll from the Toronto Raptors

With the Toronto Raptors looking to make a playoff push as the defending Atlantic Division Champions, DeMarre Carroll’s blue-collar approach and experience will be vital in providing the leadership the Raps need to bring home a first round series and another Atlantic Division banner to the Great White North.

Currently, the Raptors are sitting several games behind the division leading Boston Celtics.

Their prognostication is grim at the moment in terms of winning the division but nevertheless the Raptors are well on their way to another playoff berth. Last year, the Raptors made it all the way to the Conference Finals with Carroll playing an instrumental role.

The seasoned forward has been a reliable option for many clubs over the span of his career. Carroll was a huge contributor to the Atlanta Hawks’ success in the 2014-15 season when they made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals before being ousted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

DeMarre Carroll's Stats

Carroll is also battling a nagging injury which forces him to be a Game Time Decision. With this being said, Carroll is on the mend and rehabbing himself for the postseason. Though Carroll may be sitting more or perhaps enduring a minutes deduction until he is fully healed, Carroll is a name worth keeping an eye on if he is green-lighted to start. In his last outing Carroll was stellar.

At Atlanta (DeMarre’s former team) on March 10th, he played 33 minutes, scoring 11 points, collecting 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks and 4 steals. Carroll also hit 33% of his three-point attempts in this contest.

As a result, DeMarre acquired 33.3 points at a price of $3,800. This is the kind of upside and value players should look for and Carroll can produce at this level if he attains the minutes to do so.

DeMarre Carroll is an excellent defender and a well-rounded basketball player.

He will assuredly be an asset to Toronto in their final push and managers should place him on their radar while he is cheap.
